• Personality: A very nice, if not pushy woman who will get along fine with you as long as you are civil and willing to gossip with her. She will swoon for any handsome man, but easily find something wrong with him and dismiss any prior feelings. Her anger is quick and terrible! (“I’m Irish on my mother’s side, forgive me.”)

• History: Bethany lived next door to Richard and they were childhood friends. She witnessed his father’s death through a window and, being 6 with a wild imagination, believed that Richard had killed his father on purpose. He moved soon after and never told her what happened. She grew to hate the memory of him and when he moved back into the old house a few years later, she refused to talk to him and was even more enraged when he didn’t try to find out why. (Richard does not understand girl logic.)
Her family moved to a nicer house a year later after her family inherited a large sum from a wealthy uncle. She went to a finishing school and took some lessons in the general knowledges. There she learned the art of gossip from her schoolmates. She became a great master at it. When she finished school, she decided to become a librarian so she could be near the books she loved and be at a central hub of conversation. She soon decided that there needed to be a better system to organize the books and came up with one. ( She would claim many decades later that Melvile Dewey had used her idea, even though he’d never been to her library. )
During the Jack the Ripper scare, she learned of the accusations against Richard and believed them at first. After he was proved innocent, she began to think about him again and decided to check up on him, secretly of course. She now spends her free time following him around and bullying him. When she got the invitation to the Aluminium Club, and saw Richard’s invitation while she “happened to find it while delivering a pie to his mother” she joined immediately and now takes great pleasure at glaring at Richard whenever he’s near by.

-Loves to eat and has become a bit of a cream puff herself.
-Very fashionable and laby-like except for her puppy love habits.
-Speed reader and can memorize what ever she reads. She can help people research by piecing articles together based on subject or author simply from memory.
